  • Interns work from June 14 - August 6
  • Faculty work from June 25 - August 6 
  • Students arrive on June 29 and depart on August 4

Program Description

  • Through its Internship Program, the Phillips Academy Summer Session offers a limited number of positions to college undergraduates.
  • Interns share a variety of clerical tasks in order to maintain student record data, facilitate communications, oversee office equipment and supplies, and generally assist the administration, the faculty and the students.
  • Familiarity with the campus and operations of Phillips Academy are a plus.
  • The Interns have a 7-day work week.
  • Interns do not assist in academic classes, nor are they employed as house counselors in dormitories.

Application Process

A complete application includes:

  • an official undergraduate transcript
  • a resume
  • the application form
  • two letters of recommendation
  • an NCPS Authorization for Relaese form and CORI and SORI Release forms

This product is free shareware and may be downloaded from the Adobe Web Site. Right click on the following link and save the form to your desktop. Most of the forms can be completed on the computer. Please note that the application is not processed until the Summer Session has received ALL of your application materials.  Applications will be reviewed during February and March of 2010.  While there is no specific deadline, applications received by January 29 will have a distinct advantage.

Selection Process

After completed applications have been read, a number of applicants will be selected for interviews.

  • Invitations will be extended by telephone or e-mail to you at your home or school.
  • We will attempt to set a mutually acceptable date for the interview.

Decisions are made on a rolling basis, and as noted above, applications received before January 29th will have an advantage.  When deciding to accept an offer of a position, applicants should be mindful of the limitations on one's personal life that living with high school students entails.
