Want to refocus, recharge, and set yourself up for a great school year ahead? Join fellow local rising 6th– through 9th-grade students and fantastic teachers on the Phillips Academy campus for Andover Summer’s Advantage program. This two-week back-to-school academic prep program is designed specifically to meet the needs of local day students. Intentionally offered in late July and early August, Andover Summer Advantage can help alleviate summer learning loss and help students brush up on essential skills in preparation for a return to school in September. Whether it's getting a head start on reading and writing, or enrichment in our Math Acceleration courses, let Phillips Academy help you prepare for a brand-new academic year.
Course Offerings
Andover Advantage is divided into two distinct programs to accommodate the varying needs of learners at every level.
6th Grade Advantage (Session I only)–Designed for those students transitioning from their elementary to middle-school experience
Middle School Advantage (Session I and II)–Designed for rising 7th– 8th–graders
9th Grade Advantage (Session I and II)–Designed for the unique academic transition from the middle to high school years
**An updated course catalog for summer 2024 will be available later this fall. Please use the course catalog below to view typical summer offerings for our middle and 9th grade students. Our 6th grade program is new for 2024.**

Advantage Session I: July 15-26, 2024
Advantage Session II: August 5-16, 2024
Monday - Friday for two consecutive weeks
Students may choose to enroll in one or two courses
Period 1: 8:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
Period 2: 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Tuition and Fees
$825 per course
Refund Policy
- Tuition deposits are non-refundable
- Withdrawal prior to June 1: 80% of the tuition will be refunded
- Withdrawal between June 1-June 15: 50% of the tuition will be refunded
- Withdrawal after June 15: No refunds
A student who withdraws after June 15, 2024, or who is dismissed for any reason from Andover Advantage will not be granted any refund.
Determined by the date the Andover Summer office receives written notice of a student’s withdrawal, refunds are granted according to the schedule above.

What is Andover Summer Advantage?
Andover Summer Advantage is a 2-week back to school prep program for rising 6th-9th grade students living within commuting distance of the Phillips Academy campus. Courses are offered Monday-Friday and students may opt to take one or two courses.
What kind of course offerings are available?

What are the dates of the Andover Summer Advantage program?
The Advantage program will be offered both July 15-July 26 and August 5-August 16 in 2024. Students should expect to attend the program for the full two-week period to receive the narrative evaluations provided by instructors at the conclusion of the program.
Applying
Do I need to apply?
No, there is no application required to attend the Advantage program. Families should visit our enrollment portal to begin the process. Please be prepared to upload a current transcript in the enrollment portal when you register.
What is the cost?
Tuition for each Advantage course is $825. Students have the option to enroll in either one or two courses.
Is financial aid available?
No, Andover Summer does not currently offer financial aid awards for our two-week Advantage program.
When is the deadline to enroll?
Courses are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis so it is recommended that students enroll early for priority selection. The last day to register for Advantage is June 15, 2024.
