For 12th-Grade Families
Senior year is when everything comes together. After focusing on exploration and preparation in eleventh grade year, students now shift into the active phase of the college application process. It’s a time for continued reflection, thoughtful decision-making, and forward momentum. The College Counseling Office is here to support students and families every step of the way.
12th-grade families and students can expect the following programming from the CCO:
- Fall one-on-one meetings between students and their counselor to finalize early application plans and college lists, review essays, and discuss the financial aid process
- Fall group meeting for seniors that provides information on the Common Application and timeline for senior fall
- Fall focus meetings tied to a particular interest or priority such as Applying to the U of California System and Financial Aid
- Individualized evaluation of each student’s college list in November
- Winter and spring, one-on-one meetings between students and their counselor to finalize regular decision plans, review essays, consider enrollment options, and evaluate financial aid packages
- Newsletters and email communications for families, where we share relevant information and updates on student programming
