Standardized Testing

The College Board and the ACT continue to update their web pages with the most current information regarding the AP, SAT, and ACT exams.

Standardized Testing Updates:

The Academy intends to host standardized testing for the 22-23 school year if health and safety protocols allow. Most testing will include outside students as well as PA students. Students should review the Phillips Academy testing schedule posted on this page to determine test locations and registration method. The Testing Office will contact students when needed for registration.

Standardized Testing at Phillips Academy

Phillips Academy is a Test Center for a variety of standardized tests on the dates listed here. To register for these exams go to the appropriate test website: Collegeboard.org and ACT.org. Students register for the PSAT and AP exams through the Standardized Testing Office.

Because test registration is a fluid process, specific test directions and locations are listed on our calendar about two weeks before each exam.

Standby Testers

The Testing Boards have changed their security procedures and no longer allow walk-in testing. You must go to the testing websites to sign up for wait-list testing. You must have an Admission Ticket in order to test (except PSAT and AP testing).

Special Accommodations

Our test center can generally accommodate test takers with special accommodations. These tests are generally given in a separate room. We are NOT permitted to take students with special accommodations on a standby basis. Students must apply for and be granted accommodations by the respective testing boards.

Inclement Weather

Phillips Academy is a boarding school and rarely closes due to inclement weather. If conditions make it unsafe to conduct a test, we will post a voicemail on 978.749.4376 by 6:30 a.m. on the morning of the test.

Locations

Snyder Center is located at 220 South Main Street. This is south of the Main Street/Salem Street intersection, near mile marker 144.6. Park in the gravel parking lot across from the construction site. Walk up the driveway to Snyder Center. Parking is limited at the Snyder Center building.

Morse Hall is located at 16 Salem Street just before the intersection with Highland Road. Turn into the Gelb Science Building parking lot off of Salem Street. Signs near the playground will direct you across the quad to Morse Hall.

The McKeen building is located at 24 School Street (on the corner of School Street and Abbott Street). Drive down Abbott Campus Road and park in the lot past Draper Hall. Walk back to McKeen Hall on the circular walkway.
