      TRAVEL AND TRANSPORTATION

      ESSENTIAL INFORMATION REGARDING TRAVEL PLANNING

      • Phillips Academy is located in Andover, Massachusetts, a short drive from Boston's Logan Airport. Andover is serviced by a commuter rail station, which is roughly a 15-minute walk from the campus (*please note that we don't recommend making this trek with all of your luggage, as it's mostly uphill!).
      • When making travel plans for your students, please schedule their arrival to campus for Tuesday, July 2, 2024 - this is our Arrival and Registration Day - and their departure on Sunday, August 4, 2024.
      • If you will driving your scholar to campus, please indicate your estimated arrival time in the Transportation Form (which is part of the online Enrollment Forms).
      • If (MS)2 will be purchasing an airline ticket for your scholar, you will indicate the departure and return airports in the Transportation Form.
      • On July 2, Student Arrival & Registration Day, we will offer a complimentary shuttle bus from Logan Airport to campus, to collect those students who have signed up for the shuttle through our Transportation Form. Weather and flight-related delays are taken into consideration for the timing of our shuttle buses. Phillips Academy representatives will be at Boston Logan International Airport to greet and assist students as they arrive. You may choose to make your own arrangements for drop-off. Families are welcome to accompany students to campus to help get them settled in, but all families must depart no later than 7pm EDT.
      • On August 4, Student Departure Day, we will offer a complimentary shuttle bus from campus to Logan Airport (details and sign-ups to be provided in the spring), or you may choose to make your own arrangements for pick-up. All students must be picked up no later than 2pm EST.

      PACKING LIST

A recommended Packing List can be accessed here. All dorm rooms are equipped with a bed, pillow, dresser, desk, closet or wardrobe, chair and a wastebasket. Linens (Twin-XL sheets, a pillowcase, a lightweight blanket, towels, and washcloths) are also provided. Laundry is available in all dorms on campus; the (MS)2 office will provide each scholar with laundry detergent and a $30 pre-purchased laundry card to cover the cost to use our on-campus laundry facilities. If a scholar needs additional funds, they should come to the (MS)2 office.

      STUDENT HANDBOOKS

The 2024 on-campus Upper School Blue Book - which is relevant for (MS)2 scholars and all students on campus who are entering grades 9-12 - can be found here and was provided to you when you signed your Enrollment Agreement. Please make sure you have taken the time to fully acquaint yourself with the expectations outlined within this; however, please note that the COVID-19 risk-mitigation policies and procedures outlined above override any of the usual policies or procedures noted in the previously-published Blue Book.

The Core Blue Statement found here reflects the fundamental community standards and expectations for all students participating in summer programming offered by Phillips Academy, and serves as a quick and helpful reference for campus resources and practices.

      COVID-19 INFORMATION

We strongly encourage students, faculty, and staff to demonstrate an ethic of care while on campus. Everyone will have access to masks and hand sanitizer upon request. Anyone who feels sick (Covid or other infection) is encouraged to wear a mask, socially distance, and stay at home or at the Sykes Wellness Center to limit the transmission of infections.

While we strongly encourage students attending our on-campus programs to be vaccinated for both influenza and COVID-19, these vaccines are not required at this time. We will communicate if data and public health guidance suggest we need to reconsider in the future.

        ARRIVAL AND REGISTRATION

Detailed information about the arrival and registration process for the Summer of 2024 will be provided in early spring. This information will be shared here on our admitted students website as well as through email communications.
