ARRIVAL AND REGISTRATION
Detailed information about the arrival and registration process for the summer of 2026 will be provided in early spring. This information will be shared here on our admitted students website as well as through email communications.
TRAVEL AND TRANSPORTATION
Families are asked to communicate their travel plans to the (MS)2 office via the (MS)2 Transportation Form, which is available through the (MS)2 Family Portal, and must be completed by May 1, 2026.
- All scholars are expected to arrive to campus on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 and depart on Sunday, August 2, 2026. Any scholar who cannot arrive/depart on the designated (MS)2 program dates should email [email protected] as soon as possible to get approval from the (MS)2 Director.
- Registration will take place in the PAN Athletic Center on the campus of Phillips Academy from 1 pm to 5 pm.
- For those families who will be driving their student to campus, Phillips Academy is located in Andover, Massachusetts about 30 miles north of Boston. Andover also is serviced by a commuter rail station, which is roughly a 15-minute walk from the campus (*please note that we don't recommend making this trek with all of your luggage, as it's mostly uphill!). Families are welcome to accompany students to campus to help get them settled in, but all families must depart no later than 5pm ET.
- For those scholars for whom (MS)2 is purchasing an airline ticket, we will offer a complimentary shuttle bus from Logan Airport to campus, to collect those scholars who are flying into Boston and who have signed up for the shuttle through our Transportation Form. Shuttle buses will depart Boston Logan International Airport from a designate location at three pre-determined times - one in the late morning, one in the early afternoon, and one in the late afternoon. Weather and flight-related delays are taken into consideration for the timing of our shuttle buses. Phillips Academy representatives will be at the airport to greet and assist students when they arrive at the designated meeting location. Scholars traveling by plane who arrive after 5pm will still be able to register and move into their dorms.
- If (MS)2 will be purchasing an airline ticket for your scholar, you will indicate the departure and return airports in the Transportation Form. Additionally, families should ensure they have made proper arrangements for unaccompanied minors with Jody's Travel (airline dependent; usually under age 15); (MS)2 will pay any airline unaccompanied minor fee. For your reference, a link to the U.S. Department of Transportation Unaccompanied Minor policies can be found by clicking here.
- Your child may need a photo ID in order to board their flight; usually a school ID card is sufficient. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) currently does not request or require passengers who appear to be under the age of 18 to provide a photo identification.
- For those scholars who will be flying to (MS)2and are 18 years of age or older, you will need a state-issued REAL ID-compliant license or identification card, enhanced driver's license, or another acceptable form of ID (such as a passport) to get through TSA security at the airport. REAL ID–compliant cards are marked with a star at the top. Visit the DHS REAL ID website and click on their state on the map or visit www.tsa.gov for more information.
- On August 2, (MS)2 Scholar Departure Day, we will offer a complimentary shuttle bus from campus to Logan Airport (details and sign-ups to be provided in the spring), or you may choose to make your own arrangements for pick-up.
- All students must depart campus no later than 2pm ET on August 2.
PACKING LIST
A recommended Packing List can be accessed here. All dorm rooms are equipped with a bed, pillow, dresser, desk, closet or wardrobe, chair and a wastebasket. Linens (Twin-XL sheets, a pillowcase, a lightweight blanket, towels, and washcloths) are also provided. Laundry machines are available in all dorms on campus and are free to operate; the (MS)2 office will provide each scholar with laundry detergent.

POLICY ON RESPIRATORY ILLNESSES
We strongly encourage students, faculty, and staff to demonstrate an ethic of care while on campus. Everyone will have access to masks and hand sanitizer upon request.
While we strongly encourage students attending our on-campus programs to be vaccinated for both influenza and COVID-19, these vaccines are not required at this time. We will communicate if data and public health guidance suggest we need to reconsider in the future. Anyone who feels sick (has symptoms of respiratory illness) are expected to isolate until fever has subsided along with symptoms of virus. The length of time varies depending upon illness.
