Kassie Bateman ’06

Kassie (Archambault) Bateman graduated from Phillips Academy in 2006. As an undergrad at Dartmouth College, where she graduated in 2010, Bateman earned both the Cloise Appleton Crane and Pray Modern Language Prizes in Russian and volunteered teaching English to foster children in rural Russia. She then earned a master’s degree in special education from Hunter College while teaching middle and high school students in the Bronx and Brooklyn through the New York City Teaching Fellows Program. Returning in 2012 as an Andover faculty member, Bateman was the first female wrestling coach in New England prep school history and instrumental in organizing and hosting the first-ever all-girls’ prep school wrestling tournament. She became the first female Head Coach of a New England prep school in 2019, and is currently serving as Director of Female Wrestling on the NEPSWA board. She is also an assistant coach for the girls’ varsity lacrosse program. In addition to teaching and coaching, she serves as an academic advisor to an awesome group of day students. When possible, Bateman leads a group of Andover students to Russia for 3 weeks for an immersive language program as part of our Learning in the World program.
