Jill Thompson

"It is wonderful to be a part of a community where students, faculty, and staff can feel comfortable being who they are."

Jill B. Thompson, Interim Dean of Admission & Financial Aid, joined the Andover faculty as a teaching fellow in 2004 and the admission team in 2005, becoming director of admission in 2015 and interim dean of admission & financial aid for the 2019-2020 academic year. Originally from a small town in northern Vermont, Thompson went to a large public high school before attending Bowdoin College, where she double majored in English and French. Thompson spent one year away from Andover (2009-2010) to complete a master’s degree in School Leadership at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. In addition to her responsibilities in the admission office, she is a house counselor and academic advisor in Chase House, a large 10th-12th grade girls' dormitory. Externally, Thompson is responsible for managing many of the admission officer's outward-facing partnerships, including those with international organizations. She also serves on the Gateway to Prep Schools Board, the teaching faculty for the Enrollment Management Association's Future Leaders Program, and the Caroline D. Bradley Scholars selection committee. Thompson lives on campus with her husband, two children and yellow lab, all of whom love living in the Andover community. She enjoys yoga, traveling, fishing, and participating in campus events and activities.
