Eric Denby

Dr. Eric Denby (he/him) started his career at Phillips Academy in 2023, although he has been teaching since 2012. His path to education wasn't traditional—he spent years in Michigan's music industry as an in-house talent buyer for live venues and on the air with an FM radio morning show before discovering his passion for teaching. His doctoral dissertation, Rebel Youth: LGBT Youth Organizing in Post-Stonewall America, reflects his deep interest in youth activism and social movements. In the classroom, you'll find him teaching U.S. History, World Revolutions, and two electives, one on the power of youth in social protest movements and the other exploring social justice issues before the US Supreme Court. Beyond academics, he supports the Boys Varsity soccer team as an assistant coach and often unwinds on his patio at Pemberton Cottage (11/12 boys) with his dog Prince by his side.
