Ei Smith

Landscapes and their nuances within the global contexts have always been a passion of mine and I have strived to live a life that allows me to see more of their intricacies. I completed my doctoral and master's degrees in Toronto, Canada, and worked closely with the refugee and immigrant diaspora from Burma to gain understanding of their material cultures, gendered relations, and negotiation with political borders. I am currently a National Geographic explorer who is interested in the transnational ways to foster belonging and a sense of home. My experience of teaching at York University in Toronto, The Pike School, and Andover Public Schools inspired me to also pursue a Master's of Education. I will strive to continue fostering my intellectual curiosity within the Andover community through collaboration and an openness for growth.
