Eddy Ciobanu
Eddy Ciobanu, associate director of college counseling, joined the Phillips Academy community and college counseling office in September 2021. He chose to work at Andover because of the intentionally diverse and global community, as well as the thoughtful, kind, and motivated students he would be able to support. Mr. Ciobanu was, most recently, in the Undergraduate Office of Admissions at Yale University. There, he focused on diversity recruitment initiatives ranging from counselor programming and outreach to direct student engagement. Reading over 1500 applications annually, he has been able to learn about students and schools across the US. Prior to Yale, Mr. Ciobanu was in the admissions office at Williams College, focusing similarly on diversity and access initiatives, leading the Arts evaluation process, and managing student overnight visits to campus. He enjoys volunteering as an application reader for the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation and the Gates Millennium Scholars Program. Mr. Ciobanu earned his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Williams College.
