When Falls Music Center opened last year, it set in motion a sequence that promises to be equally melodic. Andover’s former music building, Graves Hall, has been fully renovated and now houses administrative offices once found in George Washington Hall, including Human Resources, the CFO and Business Office, and the Comptroller’s Office.
This shift has enabled Andover to reimagine what “GW” could and should be—placing students at the forefront of this centrally located campus space. Moving into the second floor? The Academy’s renowned Academic Skills Center and the Dean of Students Office. A reconfigured Dean of Faculty suite features as well. The College Counseling Office will remain one floor up. “Being able to reconceptualize GW is a wonderful opportunity,” says Dianne Domenech-Burgos, chief of staff and assistant head of school for strategic planning. “Our goal is to continue to prioritize the needs of our young scholars, with more to come. So please stay tuned!”
The Andover Women’s Endeavor held its second annual Founders’ Forum in New York on May 13. More than 30 members attended the daylong event, which was highlighted by sessions on AI in the classroom, the new head of school search, and modern mentoring. “We’re thrilled by the tremendous momentum behind this initiative,” says Kaaren Shalom ’79, P’17, who co-chairs AWE with Katherine Jollon Colsher ’96. “We continue to expand our reach while promoting female leadership and philanthropy at the Academy. We are a strong and growing network that believes in the school’s mission and our role in helping shape its future.” Learn more at andover.edu/AWE.
