Andover magazine wins gold

PA's alumni magazine acknowledged for excellence in design and writing

Andover magazine, the flagship publication of the Phillips Academy and Abbot Academy community, recently received two international marketing awards from InspirED School Marketers™. The awards were for Magazine Overall Design, spring 2024 issue “Make More Future” and Magazine Writing, fall 2024 issue “Common Divide."

The annual InspirED Brilliance Awards is the only international competition that honors excellence in marketing and communications for private and independent schools.

Entries were evaluated by a volunteer panel of 69 marketing experts from across the globe, all of whom are professionals in private schools or businesses that focus on private school marketing.

Criteria for awards included originality, persuasiveness, copy/script/dialog, visual elements, execution, and overall appeal.

Judges commented on the visual engagement of Andover magazine and the “great use of photography and typography.” For the “Common Divide” story, they noted the focus on a timely and important topic, the variety of interview subjects, and strong writing. “It all adds up to a superlative magazine.”
