The Snyder Center opens its doors to student-athletes and competitionsOpened on January 5, the multiuse Snyder Center reinforces the Academy’s commitment to a full slate of athletics, fitness, and health and wellness programs to support each student’s physical, mental, social, and emotional development.
The building features a 200-meter track and convertible infield, 12 squash courts, spaces for intramurals sports and events, along with a state-of-the-art trainers’ room. A Big Blue Jumbotron and video monitors throughout competition spaces enhance the spectator experience. Nearly every PA field sport will have solid indoor training opportunities during mud season and inclement weather.
Designed and constructed in concert with the principles set forth in the Academy’s Strategic Plan, Campus Master Plan, and Athletics Facilities Master Plan, this dynamic 98,000-square-foot structure was made possible by a lead gift from Phillips Academy track star Steve Snyder ’56 and substantial gifts from additional alumni and parents.
The Snyder Center will be officially dedicated on February 10.
