All in for Andover
First-ever PA Giving Day breaks recordsby Phillips Academy
On May 10, Andover’s first PA Giving Day ignited a global display of support and raised more than $1 million for today’s students. A record-breaking 2,932 donors from all 50 states and 20 countries gave to Andover in a single day, uniting longtime alumni/ae, recent graduates, parents, grandparents, faculty, staff, and friends of the Academy.
Making the day even more memorable, Trustee Louis Elson ’80, P’12, ’15, ’17, created a $100,000 challenge to fund four term scholarships, inspiring the community to join together and surpass an initial goal of 1,778 donors. Their gifts supported diverse and inspiring areas across campus, including need-blind admission, faculty development, the Addison Gallery of American Art, the Robert S. Peabody Museum of Archaeology, Learning in the World and outreach programs, athletics, music, and many more.
“Thank you to everyone who participated in this amazing effort,” said Director of Annual Giving Stephen Rodriguez. “Your collective impact on this school touches every student, allowing us to provide them an extraordinary education.”
