Applying to PALS
Your PALS experience will be transformational - it is an opportunity to study in an environment that promises active-learning, rigor, and learning inside and outside of the classroom.
How To Apply
To start an application with PALS, click on the "Inquire Now" button above. This will bring you to our PALS inquiry page where you will provide basic information to get started. Once the inquiry is complete, you will receive an email to the email address provided with instructions along with a username and password.
With your username and password available, you can start your application by clicking on the link provided in the email.
PALS is a selective program, offering admission to talented, motivated youth from middle schools throughout the Lawrence community.
The PALS application is now open.
You can expect to work for ~3-5 hours on your online application for admission to the the PALS program. The application includes:
- Personal, Family, and School Information
- Three short answer essay questions
- Two Recommendations (sent electronically to the core academic subject teacher(s) of your choice and your school guidance counselor or administrator)
- Transcript or Recent Grade Report
Upon submission of your application you will receive email confirmation from our office.
Completing the application: Due February 15, 2026
Applications are considered for review once all required letters of recommendation, transcripts, essays and other components are complete. You may check the status of your application in the Applicant Profile section here. Applications must completed by February 15, 2026. We regret that we will not be able to review applications received after this date.
Decisions and Enrollment
Decisions will be communicated by mid-March, 2026.

If you feel ready to take on an academically rigorous summer while building relationships that will last a lifetime, we encourage you to apply. Students entering the 7th and 8th grades are eligible for consideration. The admission committee is seeking students with demonstrated academic success, positive community engagement, and a sense of adventure.
