Summer Faculty

You made it! You've found the hidden treasure trove of faculty resources for Summer 2021. As you prepare to launch your course in June, there's obviously a lot to do. The resources here are meant as a starting point, and are intended to help, not overwhelm. If you have any questions whatsoever or would like a thought partner in your planning process, please reach out!

For On-campus Faculty:

  • OPTIONAL: Watch the video from our Q&A session on April 29 and review the accompanying powerpoint.
  • REVIEW the final version of the faculty orientation schedule and summer schedule at-a-glance
  • REQUIRED BY JUNE 25: Create your syllabus and any necessary baseline assessments, create your Canvas site for remote learning during the quarantine period (June 30-July 9), determine what texts and instructional materials you will need in hard copy vs. electronic resources, learn to operate new classroom technology, envision your course in a physically distanced classroom, plan alternatives to field trips, create new ways for students to engage with each other while staying 6 feet apart...again, no biggie.

For eSummer Faculty:

Make It Official

Congratulations - you're hired! Your first step in this process is to complete your hiring paperwork and fill out the Pre-Summer Faculty Survey. Instructions for each type of hire (new faculty, returning faculty who aren't currently employed at Phillips Academy, regular session Phillips Academy employees, etc.) can be found below, and detailed explanations are available for download here.

Please complete or submit all of these forms as soon as possible, so we can get everything lined up to employ and pay you for your work.

Hiring Paperwork Instructions

For any summer teachers or TAs who are joining the Andover Summer faculty for the first time in 2021.

Using the link sent to you by Jolene Croteau, please complete the following forms/documents via Adobe DocuSign.

Once the documents above have been completed and submitted, we will create accounts for you in ADP, the Academy’s payroll provider. You will then receive a code from Jolene Croteau, prompting you to create an account with ADP. Once you have created that account, you will complete the following forms:

  • Federal Withholding W4 2020 (accessible via the “Forms” list on the left side of the ADP home page)
  • MA State Tax Withholding M4 (accessible via the “Forms” list on the left side of the ADP home page)
  • Direct Deposit information (accessible via the “Myself” tab at the top, then selecting “Pay” from the drop-down menu that appears, then selecting “Payment Options” from the list that appears at right)
  • Mailing address, email address, and Emergency Contacts (accessible via the “Myself” tab at the top, then selecting “My Information” from the drop-down menu that appears, then selecting “Profile” from the list that appears at right)

Once you have completed all of the steps above, you will be officially hired (pending successful completion of background checks and fingerprinting, as well as completion of the in-person portion of your I-9). Later on, you can use ADP to access your paystubs, as well as your W2 form.

For any summer teachers or TAs who are rejoining the Andover Summer faculty in 2021

Using the link sent to you by Jolene Croteau, please complete the following forms/documents via Adobe DocuSign.

  • Complete & digitally sign ADP Screening form
  • Digitally sign “Expectations” form
  • ONLY FOR THOSE WHOSE FINGERPRINTING IS SET TO EXPIRE THIS YEAR: Acknowledge receipt of Fingerprinting instructions
  • Complete CORI form and have it notarized (we suggest taking it to your local bank for free notary services); After having it notarized submit via Adobe DocuSign

Once the documents above have been completed and submitted, please visit your existing account in ADP, the Academy’s payroll provider. If you have never set up an account, you can request a code from Jolene Croteau, prompting you to create an account with ADP. Once you have created that account, you will review (or, if needed, complete any missing information) on the following forms:

  • Federal Withholding W4 2020 (accessible via the “Forms” list on the left side of the ADP home page)
  • MA State Tax Withholding M4 (accessible via the “Forms” list on the left side of the ADP home page)

  • Digitally sign “Expectations” form

For hourly workers (Capano Crew, Interns, etc.)

For any employees under the age of 18: Email your Work Permit to Jolene Croteau at jcroteau@andover.edu

For all student workers, ages 16+
