Timothy Liu

“There are so many opportunities to learn and grow in a community that values curiosity and kindness.”

Tim joined the Andover admission team in 2021 and is excited to be a part of such an extraordinary community. His decision to study Chinese while attending Middlebury College led to a great appreciation for stepping outside of one’s comfort zone and culminated in four years of living abroad in China. There, Tim conducted research on primary education as a U.S. Fulbright Scholar and acted as resident director for the Middlebury C.V. Starr School in China: Hangzhou. Upon returning to the U.S., Tim taught Chinese to middle and high school students before transitioning to Yale University, where he promoted cross-cultural experiences for students as a program manager for the Yale Young Global Scholars program and as assistant director of the Richard U. Light Fellowship.

In addition to his work in the admission office, Tim teaches in the Equity, Balance, and Inclusion program, coaches Ultimate Frisbee, and is a house counselor for French House in Abbot Cluster.
