Lisanne “Lissy” Abraham ’74

Director, Abbot Academy Fund.

Originally from Long Beach, CA, Lissy attended Abbot Academy for two years, and then graduated with Phillips Academy’s first coed class. She received a B.A. in English from Stanford University in 1978.

Lissy began her career as an editor for several San Francisco Bay Area book and magazine publishers. In 1987, she went to Apple and—except for a brief stint at a few tech startups in the 90s—stayed there, mainly as a writer and editor, until retiring in 2021.

In 1991, Lissy helped found California Coast Music Camp, a nonprofit organization that is still going strong. She currently serves on the CCMC board of directors as well.

Lissy has volunteered as a child advocate and as a teacher with Music for Minors, an organization that brings music education into public schools. She has performed on guitar, electric bass, and vocals with various bands and ensembles.
