“Andover allowed me to crack open the world,” says Tanisha Colon-Bibb ’06. “I had the time of my life, and I found my people.”

The founder of Rebelle Group, which consists of communications company Rebelle Agency and talent representation company Rebelle Management, Colon-Bibb works with a roster of dynamic talent in film, TV, music, and social media. She splits her time between New York City and Johannesburg, South Africa where the majority of her clients are R&B and Afro jazz musicians.

Originally from Harlem, Colon-Bibb says it was literally “love at first sight” when she stepped foot on the Andover campus. She had a diverse group of friends and was involved in many activities, including SLAM, the PALS outreach program, The Phillipian, and Af-Lat-Am. She also co-founded the dance group Hypnotiq with friends Tess Davidson ’06 and Temi Devers ’05.

“We started Hypnotiq because we loved hip-hop,” she says, “and it was a hot time for that genre in the music industry and the culture.”

Now a class secretary, Colon-Bibb is on campus regularly and says it’s a joy to connect with classmates and alumni from other generations.

“It’s uplifting to come back to Andover. I always feel smarter when I leave campus.”
