Andover Inn prepares to reopen in mid-November

Beloved campus space will also be remodeled in 2023

Following a more than two-year suspension of operations during the pandemic, the Andover Inn will return to its original purpose as a nationally recognized historic inn on the campus of Phillips Academy. The inn will start welcoming members of the public back through its doors on November 14, 2022. For reservations or to inquire about future events, call (978) 775-4900.

The Andover Inn offers 30 well-appointed guestrooms, complimentary continental breakfast, and a bar and lounge open nightly for beverages and light fare. Plans are underway to renovate the historic inn, including a complete remodeling of the lobby and all guestrooms. The inn will remain open during renovations, which are expected to be completed in early 2023.

“We are eager to welcome the local community and travelers back to the Andover Inn,” said Tracy Sweet, Academy spokesperson. “For decades, the inn has been an integral part of the town and a regional landmark, with great proximity to Boston, the seacoast, arts and cultural activities, and so much more that New England has to offer.”

When the inn reopens next month, it will feature a limited menu in Samuel’s restaurant. Full food and beverage offerings, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner and catered meetings and social events, will begin on September 1, 2023. Once fully operational, the inn will offer intimate settings in which to celebrate a birthday or anniversary, baby or bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, or wedding reception. Meeting spaces will be ideal for business conferences, retreats, and board meetings.

A member of the National Register of Historic Inns, the Andover Inn is located on Chapel Avenue, across from Phillips Academy’s Addison Gallery of American Art. Built in 1930 and renovated in 2010 prior to the upcoming remodeling in 2023, the Andover Inn is located about 25 miles north of Boston on the 500-acre campus of Phillips Academy, one of the oldest private secondary schools in the United States. It is owned by Phillips Academy and professionally managed by Waterford Hotel Group.
