December 1 – 3, 2023 Arts Calendar
After a five-year hiatus, the Department of Theatre and Dance will present an updated version of The Nutcracker. The setting is the night of the annual Phillips Academy holiday celebration and an early snowstorm has trapped some students on campus over the winter break. Students are out trying to catch a glimpse of the partygoers when they come upon a room filled with the costumes and set pieces of the old Nutcracker. Magic ensues as the students unearth the costumes and bring to life the Nutcracker Reimagined. The cast of 35 dancers will be joined by faculty and staff children and adults, continuing the tradition of a community holiday event.
This event is first-come first-served seating—we recommend arriving 45 minutes before showtime to secure your seat for the show. All persons in your party must be present to claim their seat—there is no saving seats and no late seating. Families of students involved in the production and campus adults who arrive before doors open can check in at the Information Desk to receive priority seating. Please arrive early (45 minutes before showtime) to secure your seat for the show.
- Friday, December 1: 7:30 p.m.
- Saturday, December 2: 3 and 7:30 p.m.
