September 26, 2025 Alumni Events
We invite you to join us in supporting a powerful movement by volunteering at this year’s 25th Annual Brides' March in New York City. While there are many ways to support this event, volunteers are needed to help greet participants, distribute materials, and provide logistical support during the event. More details will be shared with those who register to volunteer.

The Brides' March was born in 2001 in response to the tragic murder of Gladys Ricart, who was killed by an abusive ex-partner on her wedding day — a crime witnessed by her family, including Lethy Liriano ’00, then a senior at Phillips Academy. A grassroots movement was launched by Dominican-American activist Josie Ashton, who marched from Gladys’ home to the church in a wedding dress to raise awareness of domestic violence. Today, the march is a global call to action. Now in its 25th year, the march continues to grow under the leadership of our alumna Lethy Liriano, who is building an organization to expand its reach — from public awareness to healing services for survivors and violence prevention education. This year’s milestone is both a commemoration and a springboard for greater impact.
