Celebrating the 12th Annual Mixed Heritage Awareness Week

Little White Lie screening and talkback in Kemper Auditorium
Free and open to the public

Award-winning producer, writer, and director Lacey Schwartz Delgado creates compelling stories that span documentary and fiction and works with innovative organizations and brands. She is the co-founder of Truth Aid Media, which produces inspiring and empowering multimedia content to affect social change.

At All-School Meeting, Schwartz Delgado will use clips from the viral series The Loving Generation to talk about what we can learn from the children of one white parent and one Black parent who grew up on the “color line” after the Civil Rights movement—and before the U.S. Census allowed individuals to check more than one race.

Watch Little White Lie at 7 p.m.!
Lacey Schwartz Delgado is best known for writing, directing, and producing Little White Lie, her internationally recognized personal documentary.

At age 18, Schwartz Delgado discovered she was African American, although she had been raised as a white Ashkenazi Jew in Woodstock, New York. The revelation of her mother’s affair and uncovering her biracial identity ignited a mission to give voice to difficult truths, which are widespread but rarely talked about. Her story is a catalyst for audiences to reclaim a sense of self and bridge societal divides.

A talkback with Schwartz Delgado will follow the Friday night film screening.

This event is hosted by MOSAIC, the Jewish Student Union, African Student Association,
Black Student Union, and Moviemaker’s Club.

Schwartz Delgado’s visit is made possible by the Office of Community and Multicultural Development, the Dean of Studies Office, and the Office of the Associate Head of School for Equity, Inclusion, and Wellness, with funding from the Elizabeth Rogers Lectureship Fund.
