The Sounds of Color Concert with Sara Su Jones ’91
Wednesday, August 20, 2025
6–7 p.m.
The Richard H. Driehaus Museum
50 East Erie Street
Chicago
Join us for a special evening of music as acclaimed violinist Sara Su Jones ’91 and pianist Tatyana Stepanova present The Sounds of Color, a free, hourlong concert inspired by the artistry of Louis Comfort Tiffany. Featuring works by female composers, the program shines a light on often-overlooked women who contributed to Tiffany’s legacy, including the designers of the famed Women’s Glass-Cutting Department. The concert will close with Fantasy Etudes by Abbot Academy alumna Gwyneth Walker ’64.
This performance is part of the Driehaus Museum’s Third Wednesday Concert Series and will take place in the restored Murphy Auditorium, a hidden gem of Chicago’s cultural landscape. Arrive early to enjoy free admission to the Driehaus Museum from 4–7 p.m., and explore the stunning Nickerson Mansion before the concert begins. Following her performance, Sara Su will greet guests in the lobby of Murphy Auditorium. Enjoy an evening full of music, art, history, and Big Blue love!
Questions? Reach out to Caitlin Duncan in the Office of Alumni Engagement.
