Lawrence History Center Non Sibi Project with Nunzi Sapuppo ’73

10/24/2026 10:00 AM 10/24/2026 12:00 PM America/New_York Andover Lawrence History Center Non Sibi Project with Nunzi Sapuppo ’73

Alumni, families, and friends of Andover are invited to a

Lawrence History Center Non Sibi Project
with Nunzi Sapuppo ’73

Join us at the Lawrence History Center, housed in the former Essex Company Offices & Yard – a site on the National Register of Historic Places built in 1882-3 that includes a main office building, carpenter shop, blacksmith shop, stable, and warehouse.

After an introduction and tour of the buildings, the group will work inside the warehouse and unbox, sort, order, and relabel a collection of City Directories (listings of who lived and worked in Lawrence) dating back to 1850. Children ages 12 and up are welcome to participate. Wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for handling dusty/dirty boxes and documents. Parking is available inside the courtyard (enter from Essex Street) or in metered spaces adjacent to the building.

The Lawrence History Center’s (LHC) mission is to collect, preserve, share, and animate the history and heritage of Lawrence and its people. The largest single collection is the Essex Company business and planning records that meticulously document the building of the City of Lawrence starting in 1845. These records are among many other collections that reflect Lawrence’s ethnic diversity and intellectually vibrant history. The LHC engages the community by employing these materials through physical and online exhibits, symposia, educational programs, and research services to foster understanding of the interaction of the built community and the lives of those who live and work there
