Mountain Athlete | Photographer | Filmmaker | Author

Jimmy Chin—Academy Award–winning film director of Free Solo—will visit Andover on September 25.

Chin is an Asian American professional mountain athlete, National Geographic photographer, Academy Award–winning film director, and New York Times bestselling author. In his multiple careers as an athlete, storyteller, and artist, he is equally respected for his groundbreaking climbing, mountaineering, and skiing achievements as he is for his photography and filmmaking. Chin’s exploits in the mountains have allowed him to partner with some of the greatest adventure athletes and explorers of his generation.

We invite you to join us in supporting a powerful movement by volunteering at this year’s 26th Annual Brides' March in New York City. The Brides' March was born in 2001 in response to the tragic murder of Gladys Ricart, who was killed by an abusive ex-partner on her wedding day — a crime witnessed by her family, including Lethy Liriano ’00, then a senior at Phillips Academy. While there are many ways to support this event, volunteers are needed to help greet participants, distribute materials, and provide logistical support during the event. More details will be shared with those who register to volunteer.

Discover Andover—on-campus open houses—provide a firsthand look at the academic program and admissions process at Andover. You’ll have the opportunity to take classes with faculty members, hear directly from students, and engage with admission officers about how to approach the admission process!

Use your Andover application portal credentials to log in and register for Discover Andover. Candidates receive Andover application portal credentials after submitting the Candidate Profile to Andover via the Gateway to Prep Schools website.

Attending candidates applying for the fall of 2027 should complete and submit the Candidate Profile to Andover.

Andover alumni! Join us for this fall harvest Non Sibi Project and make a difference supporting Gaining Ground! Volunteers may take part in harvesting produce, spreading compost and mulch to enrich the soil, weeding, or other tasks. Children ages 5 and up are welcome to participate; however, space is limited for children under 14.

Gaining Ground is a non-profit farm that grows fresh, organic produce exclusively for donation to those experiencing food insecurity in the Greater Boston area. 100% of the food harvested at Gaining Ground is donated to over 15 local hunger relief organizations. 

This project will take place outside; dress appropriately for the weather and farm work. All volunteers are required to fill out Gaining Ground's waiver form.
