Jessica Acosta-Chavez ’06

"One of my favorite things is seeing a student light up when they talk about their passions."

Associate Director of Admission & Director of Multicultural Outreach

Jessica Acosta-Chavez '06 returned to Andover in 2017 after a three-year stint in the Tufts University Office of Undergraduate Admission. She previously volunteered as one of Andover's Alumni Admission Representatives and is thrilled to return to the school that greatly impacted her life. "I'm looking forward to interviews because I get to interact with students and families!" she says. "One of my favorite things is seeing a student light up when they talk about their passions, whether it is a book they just read, a favorite sport, or an interesting hobby."

Acosta-Chavez lives on campus with her husband and dog, Chewy. She graduated cum laude from Harvard University in 2010 with a degree in Spanish & Portuguese Literature. Her favorite author is Junot Diaz because of how he weaves English and Spanish in his work. She also has an Ed.M. from Harvard's Graduate School of Education. In addition to her responsibilities in the admission office, she is an academic advisor to four returning lowers in Adams House and a complementary house counselor in Bertha Bailey House, a ninth grade boys' dorm.
