The anchor work of the evening, Kommos, is a lyrical song of lamentation set to the Pulitzer Prize winning “Piano Concerto” by composer Samuel Barber. Also anchoring the program is Particles of Memories, a stunning dance in three movements featuring upper Kiki Kozol. The dance explores the nature of memories and the creation of this dance was influenced by the healing properties of memories explored in the literature of Kate McQuade’s English elective “Rememories: Trauma and Survival.” This work also includes gorgeous costumes designed by faculty member Billy Murray and realized by the students in the winter term costuming class.

Rounding out the evening will be My Tango, originally choreographed by Wombwell in 1987 to music by Astor Piazzola and performed by Carra Wu ’17 and Romulus Sottile ’19, and Moby Dick, a rousing romp of a dance set to this Led Zepplin classic song featuring seniors Lydia Paris and Zach Ruffin.
