Girls Varsity Hockey

teamThe girls’ hockey program at Phillips Academy has a long and successful tradition as one of the oldest high school girls’ programs in the country. The team competes in the New England Prep School Athletic Conference (NEPSAC) at the Division 1 level with one of the most competitive schedules in the league, which includes a holiday tournament in December. The Patsy K. Odden Tournament features eight of the top teams in New England and is a terrific opportunity for players to be seen and evaluated by college coaches. Many Andover scholar-athletes have gone on to play at the collegiate level, both in Division I and III. Most recently we have graduates competing in the Hockey East, ECAC, and NESCAC conferences.

Since 2001 the hockey programs at Andover have benefited from the state-of-the-art Harrison and South rinks. This beautiful  dual rink facility allows the varsity and junior varsity teams to practice four times per week, play games, and complete their strength and conditioning and any necessary rehabilitation on site with our certified athletic trainer in the Bronk Training Room.

The girls’ program has advanced to the highly competitive Division One NEPSAC tournament twice in the last six years, with the 2006 team making a tremendous run at the title with a final four finish. Student-athletes who are interested in learning more about the girls’ ice hockey program at Andover should complete the student-athlete profile on the athletic home page. We look forward to hearing from you!
