Andover earns a draw at Taft

After a second half comeback, Taft tied Andover 2-2 on Saturday in Connecticut.
On the road at Taft, Andover earned a 2-2 draw after a spirited comeback from the home team. Early in the game, Andover dominated play and after some good work by Andrei Dumitrescu in the opponents penalty area, the Big Blue had a penalty kick which Peder Bakken finished to go up 1-0. Ten minutes later Andover added a second after Bakken found Brandon Girard over the top on a long counter. Girard finished the play cleanly with a shot into the corner and despite a few more good chances, the first half ended 2-0 to Andover. Twenty minutes into the second half, Taft capitalized on a loose ball in Andover’s area and made the score 2-1. Feeling the game coming their way, Taft pressed and scored another in the 70th minute to tie it up. The final period was end to end and Andover had their chances but the game finished even 2-2.
