Five Goals in Third Period
Down two goals after three minutes and fifty seconds in the first, the team began to turn the tide and outplayed Pomfret the last seven minutes of the period. They came out of the locker room strong and controlled the puck the majority of the second, but could not solve the Pomfret netminder. The third started, still down 2-0, and upper Jonny Edelson scored a power play goal after just one minute; assisted by Ty Levine and Payton Jancsy. Soon after, Andover went a man down but the tenacious, speedy center Billy Stahley bird-dogged a Pomfret defender and single handedly scored a fantastic goal to tie the game. Powerful forward Nick Latham banged home what proved to be the winner with an assist from Stahley. Edelson once again tallied for the insurance goal. Collin Nugent, who was instrumental all game, was rewarded with an empty net goal after some great defense play to seal the victory. Goaltender Matt Schoen had another strong outing making 27 saves and shutting the door for two and three quarter periods.
