Jamie Hagerman Phinney

Jamie arrived at Andover in 2017 serving as Associate Director of College Counseling. She and her family had been living and working at both Salisbury School and Hotchkiss School where she served as Assistant Director of College Counseling (Salisbury School) as well as field hockey and ice hockey coach (Hotchkiss School). In the fall of 2018, Jamie joined the Admission team at Andover having served as Assistant Director of Admission at Groton School from 2010-2013. In her current role within Team Shuman, one of her primary responsibilities is serving as the athletic liaison between admission and our twenty-one varsity sports. In addition to her roles within admission, Jamie is an instructor in our Empathy, Balance & Inclusion program, complementary house counselor in Chase House, academic advisor, faculty advisor to the great class of 2024 and field hockey and ice hockey coach.

Jamie is a graduate of Harvard University where she was a student-athlete in both ice hockey and lacrosse. Continuing to chase her dreams in the sport of ice hockey, Jamie was a member of the USA Women’s National Ice Hockey team for nine years. She and her teammates won the United States first gold medal in a World Championship and went on to bring home a bronze medal in the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy. Jamie lives on campus with her husband, Brian Phinney, and their son George and daughter Lincoln.
