The Ethical Responsibility of a Historian in the Age of Disillusionment

7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Kemper Auditorium

A conversation with presidential historian Michael Beschloss ’73

New York Times bestselling author and award-winning presidential historian Michael Beschloss will join Christopher Jones, PA history and social science department chair, for a conversation about the influence of American history and previous presidencies on the current landscape of U.S. politics. If all goes as scheduled, Beschloss will be commentating President Trump’s State of the Union address on NBC the evening before he is on campus.

A recipient of the 2018 Andover Alumni Award of Distinction, Beschloss is the presidential historian for NBC News and PBS’s The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer. With more than 350,000 followers, @BeschlossDC recently appeared on Time’s list of the world’s top Twitter feeds.

Open to PA students, faculty, administrators, staff, alumni, and parents. Alumni and parents are encouraged to register for the event online. Contact Judy Davis in the Office of Alumni Engagement with questions.

Beschloss’s visit is sponsored by the Office of Academy Resources.
