An Evening with Celine Parreñas Shimizu

An internationally screened award-winning lmmaker and lm scholar, Celine Parreñas Shimizu is also a professor in the School of Cinema at San Francisco State University. Her work— which includes the groundbreaking short lm The Fact of Asian Women (view at celineshimizu.com), Mahal Means Love and Expensive, Her Uprooting Plants Her, Super Flip, and Birthright—focuses on social theories of power and inequality at the site of race, sexuality, and transnationalism.
