- Students will be in Grades 6, 7, or 8. Each grade level will read a different book. They will read one novel over the course of the six weeks.
- Your book club group will have 6-8 students in it. We will aim to have two high school tutors in each group. A PA adult will cycle through each book club group each week. You will be asked to record your breakout group and upload it to OneDrive each week.
- Since the middle schoolers will be signing up in late-December and early-January, you will be mailed books for two different grade levels so that we have versatility in our group assignments. Once we have a more finite list of participants, you will then be assigned to one grade level.
- You will only need to read one of the books – and about 30 pages per week. These are middle-grade books so they should be fast reads and they are high interest!
- There will be a “syllabus” of which chapters the participants, and you, need to read each week along with a list of suggested discussion questions for each week’s meeting. You will also have a chance to add ideas to the list as you read the week’s chapters.
