PAECS—Phillips Academy Environmental Conservation Society
www.paecs.org
PAECS –pronounced “peaks”– is an umbrella organization encompassing all student-run environmental enterprises on campus. Dedicated to promoting environmental conservation, PAECS has now expanded to include the new Ecological Literacy Center (ELC), located in the Gelb Science Center, and the former club, ECO-Action.
The purpose of PAECS is to keep knowledge of and pursuit of environmental conservation alive in the Phillips Academy community. The goal is to promote awareness of environmental issues and promote energy conservation, recycling, and waste reduction on campus. To do this, the club maintains a Web site at www.paecs.org with up-to-date reports of environmental conservation issues on and off campus. PAECS keeps a strong physical presence in the community through the Ecological Literacy Center by assuring the center has up-to-date eye-catching posters about pertinent ecological and environmental issues and is a nice hang-out/homework location. The club also holds awareness and fundraising events to support on and off campus environmental conservation pursuits.

Andover Science Club develops the science community in Phillips Academy by becoming an extension of the curriculum. Primarily, members participate in various science competitions, including the National Science Bowl and the NSTA/Toshiba Exploravision Awards Program.
The Science Club is a group of students dedicated to working with other students who share their enthusiasm. Every week, they teach and learn from each other to prepare for the competitions, which occur near the end of winter term. During spring term, the club organizes a school-wide Science Bowl to promote the study of science at PA. In addition, club members experiment in robotics throughout the year.
