Toni DiPina will complete the Master’s of Divinity degree requirements from Andover Newton Theological School at the end of the 2007 fall academic semester. She is a member of the seminary’s Jonathon Edwards Honor Society and is a Kelsey Owens scholar. Toni will become eligible for ordination under the auspices of the American Baptist Church upon completion of her studies. She has worked extensively with youth projects extolling the benefits of community service and is the founder of Andover Newton Theological School’s Shoebox Ministry for the homeless. The Shoebox Ministry attempts to partner seminary students with youth organizations and local churches to raise caring and compassionate awareness of the struggles of homeless families. Prior to accepting the call to ministry, DiPina worked as an Underwriter for Amica Mutual Insurance Company and as an insurance representative for the MetLife Property and Casualty Insurance Company. Toni holds a bachelor’s of arts degree in English from Worcester State College, where she was awarded membership into the Honor Lambda Iota Tau Literary Society. She is the proud mother of two teenaged children. | ||||||||

Rev. Michael J. Ebner '70 (Rev Eb) has been working with youth in a variety of settings for nearly 20 years. After graduating from Rollins College in 1974, he and his wife, Terry, worked with church youth groups and developed a variety of outreach programs for youth. In 1992 he entered the ministry and after attending Boston University and Andover Newton Seminary, was ordained by the Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church in 1997. He has organized more than 30 trips to various parts of the United States to help students explore the complex social and spiritual nature of poverty. Rev. Ebner has presented at the National Society for Experiential Education (NSEE) on spiritual reflection in secular outreach programs. He has developed a summer program, Service Experience of Education and Dialogue (SEED) to involve middle school children working with high school youth in a service learning setting. |

Dr. Theodore Kepes was born and raised in Chicago. He earned a BS degree at Lewis University in Romeoville, Ill., and then a master’s degree in theology from Loyola University in Chicago. He taught religious studies at Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart High School in Lake Forest, Ill., where he also served as director of campus ministry and liturgical music and the head of the Religious Studies Department. In 1993 he moved to Boston to earn a second master’s degree in philosophy from Boston College and earned his doctoral degree in theology from Boston College in 2004. He has been a professor of theology at Boston College for the past five years and served also as assistant professor of theology at Providence College last year. He is the recipient of numerous teaching awards, including the Sacred Heart Award from Woodlands Academy and the Donald J. White Teaching Excellence Award from Boston College. Dr. Kepes has published a number of articles and is interested in inter-religious and interdisciplinary studies. At Andover he serves as the Catholic chaplain and is also an English instructor. He currently resides in Foxcroft Hall, where he serves as dorm counselor. |

Rabbi Neil Kominsky graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College in 1966. In 1970, he was ordained as a Reform Rabbi by the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institure of Religion in Cincinnati. He is a Doctor of Divinity, HUC-JIR. He has served as Jewish chaplain at Andover and concurrently as Rabbi of Temple Emanuel of the Merrimack Valley since 1995. Rabbi Kominsky has previously served congregations in Massachusetts, Connecticut and California, and on the rabbinic staff of Harvard-Radcliffe Hillel. His major areas of interest include Jewish worship and spirituality, needs and concerns of intermarried couples, gender equity, social justice issues, medical ethics, and end-of-life issues. |
