| ANDOVER,
Mass.—The Phillips Academy Summer Session will present a Summer
Concert Series on Friday evenings this summer. The concerts, free
and open to the public, will feature students and faculty of the
Performance Program, an intensive course for serious performers
of string instruments and piano. All concerts will be held from
6:45-8:30 p.m. in Graves Hall on the Phillips Academy campus.
The
schedule includes:
Friday,
July 11—Franck Sonata, Dvorak “Dumky” Trio, Beethoven
Violin Sonata; performed by faculty members Judith Lee, violin;
Magdalena Richter, violin; Peter Warsaw, piano; and Tess Remy-Schumacher,
cello.
Friday,
July 18—Schumann Violin Sonata, Debussy Violin Sonata, Rachmaninoff
Cello Sonata; performed by Magdalena Richter, violin; Judith Lee,
violin; Peter Warsaw, piano; and Tess Remy-Schumacher, cello.
Friday,
July 25—Debussy Cello Sonata, Shostakovich Trio; performed
by Judith Lee, violin; Peter Warsaw, piano; Tess Remy-Schumacher,
cello; and a student musician.
Friday,
Aug. 1—Shostakovich Cello Sonata, Ravel Duo, Tchaikovsky Trio;
performed by Lynn Chang, violin; Judith Lee, violin; Peter Warsaw,
piano; and Tess Remy-Schumacher, cello.
In
addition, students will perform on Tuesday evenings from 6:45-8
p.m. beginning July 8, with programs to be announced.
