A Big Blue Start to Our 230th Year!

That irrepressible Andover spirit was unleashed last week as students and faculty from far corners of the globe gathered for the new school year and its annual rituals of welcome and transition:

• “Honk If You Love Andover!” a perennial favorite that always animates the corner of Salem and Main;
• The “Vista Walk” at the start of the first morning of classes, when seniors are led from Main Street to the steps of Sam Phil by Head of School Barbara Landis Chase and Student Body President Teddy Collins;
• The family efforts of dorm move-in day;
• The singular efforts to make it home;
• Checking out the repository for everything from parent letters to college acceptances;
• The Class of ’08’s rousing entrance into the first All School Meeting;
• And the great gift of international students bearing their national flags as they follow the seniors into the year’s first official gathering the Andover family.
