Rebecca Nurse Homestead: Introduction to Archaeology

Introduction to Archaeology is an archaeological field school that is run through Phillips Academy’s Summer Session. The field school is held at the Danvers, Mass., homestead of Rebecca Nurse, famed victim of the 1692 Salem Witchcraft Trials. It is a collaborative project taught with the University of Southern Maine and is a near-college-level course that that, in a uniquely engaging hands-on manner, fosters important educational skills, such as critical thinking, proper research technique, and public speaking.
