This acronym stands for The Bilingual Archaeological Learning Adventure in Mesoamerica. It is an interdisciplinary Peabody Museum/Spanish Department program open to any student with an interest in archaeology and Spanish language. The two-and-a-half week archaeology and Spanish language/cultural immersion program travels through Mexico, Belize, and Guatemala. Deep in the jungle, they also encounter the Maya underworld in ancient ceremonial caves. Participation in an archaeological excavation sponsored by the government of Belize is the tripÕs capstone experience.
