over 20,000 scholarly web resources in a very easy to use interface.
The search engine automatically extends words. For an exact search term,
put the term in quotation marks.

comprehensive site, which includes Teen and Youth links.

Updated almost daily, an extremely well organized and categorized site
featuring extensive and high quality links to (almost) all fields. Scroll
down the page for the links, and be prepared to increase the font size
on your browser to read the yellow print against the bright blue background.

New York Times Navigator
The selected net resources page of the New York Times for the newsroom,
this page is supposed to change frequently. Very comprehensive links
not limited to the news. There are three specialized navigators for
students in grades 3-12, teachers and parents.

Subject headings selected by editors, a directory similar to Yahoo.
- RefDesk.com
Calling itself the "single best source for facts on the net," RefDesk.com
is a great site for the intellectually curious. Professionals will find
it too busy for a first stop.
- Scout Report
Published every Friday on the web (available via e-mail as well),
it offers a convenient and quick way to stay informed of new and informative
Internet sites. Sites are evaluated by professional librarians who select,
research, and annotate each resource.

A nice newsy site that includes chats and message boards, but no information
about who is responsible for it.

Not a search engine itself, but rather "watches" and reports

Association, LITA. Contains much information on searching techniques
