Get Help with Independent Projects
Who?
All PA students working on an Independent Project (including CAMD Scholars and Brace Scholars) may schedule a personal appointment with any of the seven Instructional Librarians for help with any information need at any stage of the research process.
What?
An Independent Project consultation usually lasts about a half hour. During that time, the librarian will help you think through your information needs and identify sources that will be most effective in meeting those needs. Most students return for several consultations while they are working on their IPs.
When?
Independent Project Consultations are available whenever the library is open. Appointments are recommended, but walk-in service is available whenever the library is not too busy.
Where?
Consultations may be held at the Main Help Desk, at the entrance to the library. Consultations may also be held in one of the library offices.
Why?
Why not? The librarians are information experts. Using Google on your own can be inefficient and ineffective. Speaking with a librarian early in the research process is guaranteed to save you time and produce better results.
How?
Contact any member of the Instructional Team by email, voicemail, text, or chat to set up an appointment. Or just walk over to the Help Desk and introduce yourself to the librarian on duty. Do it now!
