China Room

The China Room is located on the second floor of the old wing of the OWH Library, off the McLean Gallery. It was renovated with funds from alumni and parents honoring Phillips Academy’s long association with China. Under Dr. Bancroft, the seventh Head Master, students from Asia began arriving at Andover. Pi Yuk, later known as Sir Chentung Liang Cheng, is perhaps the most famous of our Chinese alumni.   The China Room contains a collection of Chinese porcelain and paintings. The room is currently used as a classroom and meeting room.
