Abbot Academy Room

The Abbot Academy Room is located on the second floor of the old wing of the OWH Library.   The room contains some of the treasures that were acquired when Abbot Academy merged with Phillips Academy in 1973.  The room is currently being used by the Academic Support Department.

Abbot Academy was founded in 1829 as a girls’ school with goals similar to Phillips Academy for its students. The curriculum would “enrich their minds and provide a guide for their spirits”. The various histories of Abbot, along with its yearbooks and student publications, are in the bookcases along the walls of the Abbott Academy Room. Interior and exterior photographs of the school are displayed in the room.
