Q: Will confidentiality be respected at Isham?
A: Like any health care facility or physician office, Isham is bound to protect patient confidentiality.

Q: What happens if I am sick and cannot attend class?
A: You must come to Isham to be excused from classes. If you are a day student at home, a parent must call Isham. If you are having academic difficulties due to illness or injury, or emotional problems, please see Dr. Keller.

Q: Can day students come to Isham?
A: Absolutely. Isham's services are available to all students, 24 hours a day while school is in session.

Q: “Is there a doctor in the house?”
A: There is a physician on call and available 24 hours a day, but he/she may not always be in Isham. Registered nurses are on duty 24 hours a day while school is in session.

Q: How much do things cost at Isham?
A: All PA students are required to have Health Insurance through the school, which covers most of Isham's services. There are a few limitations to this coverage, and questions or concerns can be discussed with Isham's Insurance manager, Ms. Flynn (749-4468).

Q: Do my parents get a bill if I'm admitted overnight?
A: There is a modest charge for overnight admissions. If your private insurance doesn't pay the bill, it can be submitted to the school insurance for payment.

Q: Is there a policy regarding prescription medications?
A: Students are permitted to keep and take prescribed medications in their dormitories. However, to insure student safety, all psychotropic medications for attention deficit disorder, depression, anxiety or other mood disorders need to be held in Isham and are dispersed to students in one or two-week supplies.
