National Organization for
College Admission Counseling
The National Organization for College Admissions Counseling, or NACAC,
is one of the professional organizations to which all of the college
counselors at Andover belong. In addition to providing support for
counselors and admissions officers, their website has a special section
devoted to students and parents who are going through the process.
From this link, you can check out their "Prep for College Counselor,"
read about your "Rights & Responsibilities" as a college applicant,
and research other "Web-Resources for the College Bound."
National Association of Independent
Schools
1,100 secondary schools in the United States and abroad are part of
the NAIS. Their regularly updated Web site features news of note for
students and parents at these schools.
The National Association of Secondary
School Principals
The National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) serves
education leaders in middle level schools and high schools, including
administrators, teachers, students, and others interested in education
and the welfare of today's youth. Their Web site offers a convenient
link to The Common Application among other helpful tools.
Rugg's Recommendations
A copy of the latest edition of Rugg's Recommendations on the Colleges
is available in the College Counseling Office Library. Their Web site
provides more information on the publication, which recommends "quality
departments at quality colleges."
Internet Public Library
Check out the Teen Division of the Internet Public Library's section
on "Careers and College" for suggested Web sites on both subjects.
The Adolescent
Directory On-Line
Adolescence Directory On-Line (ADOL) is an electronic guide to information
on adolescent issues. It is a service of the Center for Adolescent
Studies at Indiana University.
The College Bound Network
The College Bound Network offers free email accounts and "The 4-1-1"
on college, sports, and financial aid.
Vocabulary University
