The
Common Application
Nearly two hundred selective private colleges and universities accept
the Common Application. Check their Web site for the list of schools
participating this year and then you can download the application
itself. Of course, we always have plenty of the paper version in
the CCO if you prefer the low-tech option.
Peterson's College Quest
The same people who brought you online test prep and college searches
can also bring you directly to the applications. If you have not
already done so, you will need to create a user profile to begin
using this free service. Peterson's offers something called the
Universal Application that is accepted by the 1,000 schools that
participate in their program.
College Net
College Net allows you to do a tailored college search and then
apply to those schools you select using their online applications.
Although they do not participate in the Common or Universal Applications,
the program is designed to share information from one application
to the other, so you only have to type your social security number
once. Hooray!
