The Phillips Academy Alumni Council is now accepting nominations for its Athletic Hall of Honor, which will be inaugurated during this year’s Reunion Weekend.  The Hall of Honor will recognize alumni, teams, and coaches from Phillips and Abbot academies. “We are very excited about this new distinction and know that it will serve to showcase our outstanding alumni athletes and coaches,” says Abigail Harris ’96, co-chair of the Alumni Council Athletic Committee.  She and co-chair John Kane ’63 recently announced the creation of the Athletic Hall of Honor in a letter to all alumni. 

Inductees will be chosen for their accomplishments in athletics and for the exceptional ways in which they have continued to lead a life that embodies the values of the academies.  Annually, alumni will be asked for nominations, and alumni, teams and coaches— living and deceased—will be recognized each Reunion Weekend. The Selection Committee includes members of the Athletics Department, the Athletics Committee of the Alumni Council, and the Office of Alumni Affairs.  A permanent plaque featuring each recipient’s name will be displayed in the field house, and a photo and bio display will adorn the wall outside the swimming pool in the Academy’s gymnasium complex.  Each honoree will be presented with a personal plaque during the induction.
