12. Graves Hall

Graves Hall is music central on campus, with music classrooms, a concert hall, a music library, and 19 practice studios to support the school's four orchestras, five choral groups, wind and brass ensembles, hand bell choir, and, of course, classes in classical, jazz, modern, and electronic music. The building's concert hall overlooks the girls' varsity soccer field, so the team sometimes practices to live music --Mozart, say, or African drumming--sometimes even bagpipes.

Q: How many student and faculty concerts are held on campus each year?

A: 60-70

Q: What do the varsity soccer players listen to if there's no live music in Graves?

A: There is practically always live music in Graves, but often it is from students' practicing rather than performing, in which case the soccer team might turn on a boom box.
